The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 144th year with a dinner and awards ceremony Monday at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
Nearly 1,000 business, government and civic leaders are expected to attend. San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer will address the business organization and induct is 2015 board of directors.
The chamber will present awards to four local leaders and businesses that have “made a difference in the community and truly represent what makes San Diego unique.” This year’s recipients are:
- Padres Executive Chairman Ron Fowler — “Herb Klein Spirit of San Diego” award recipient
- Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins — “Moving San Diego Forward” award recipient
- Public relations firm Nuffer, Smith, Tucker — “Business of the Year” award recipient
- Auto dealer and real estate developer Sunroad Enterprises — “Binational Business of the Year” award recipient
The chamber is the largest business organization of its kind on the West Coast, representing more than 3,000 businesses and 400,000 employees. It supports pro-business policies and political candidates.
