Ashli Babbitt’s Brother Denied Chance to Avoid Jail in Alleged Hate Crimes

The brother of Ashli Babbitt, the San Diego woman fatally shot during the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, was denied Friday a chance at a diversion program which could have led to the dismissals of two misdemeanor criminal cases filed against him.

Richard Anthony Sepolio appeared in court for sentencing in May 2019.
