Former San Diego State star Kawhi Leonard made an immediate impression for the Los Angeles Clippers in his first preseason game last week.

According to, Leonard, in “his Clippers preseason debut, hit a 14-footer, stole a pass from Gary Harris and then buried a step-back 3-pointer in the span of 21 seconds during the first two minutes Thursday night.”

He played a total of 10-minutes, 45-seconds in the first half against the Denver Nuggets and scored 7 points. He also logged 6 assists.

The Clippers lost 111-91 loss to the Nuggets.

“It felt good,” Leonard said, according to the report. “We prepared for this moment. Felt great to just be out there getting a rhythm.”

His teammates took notice.

“I didn’t think he showed us what he got in practice,” Clipper Ivica Zubac told ESPN. “Man, tonight out there, he looked amazing.”
