Petco Park hosts the 2019 Perfect Game All-American Baseball Classic, a showcase for the nation’s top high school baseball talent, at 5 p.m. Sunday.
The 50 players taking part will play on West Coast vs. East Coast teams. The game follows the San Diego Padres’ 12:40 p.m. game with the Colorado Rockies.
The contest has featured 171 players who moved on to the big leagues, including current Padres Eric Hosmer, Austin Hedges and Robert Stock.
Standouts who’ve played in the game include current and former league MVP’s Christian Yelich, Mike Trout and Bryce Harper and current MVP candidate Cody Bellinger.
Padres minor league players MacKenzie Gore, Ryan Weathers and Xavier Edwards played in the game as well.
The game also has raised over $1.1 million for Rady Children’s Hospital to fight childhood cancer.
Tickets for the late game alone cost $5.
