Two of the San Diego Padres pitchers of the future — Jarred Cosart and Colin Rea — are on track to be ready for Spring Training after their respective injuries.

Cosart had a successful surgery on his elbow to remove a bone spur Wednesday. His recovery is supposed to last around six weeks.

Rea has a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament that the Padres hope he’ll recover from by Dec. 1. The UCL is the ligament associated with Tommy John Surgery, a process that takes around 18 months to heal from.

Cosart was acquired by the Padres from the Marlins earlier this year for Andrew Cashner among other players. Rea was initially dealt to Miami as well but was sent back after controversy surrounding his health and the possibility of Padres GM A.J. Preller falsifying his medical records.
