During a season in which one broadcaster – Dodgers legend Vin Scully – has been enshrined across baseball everywhere, another is dropping the mic as well: Padres commentator Dick Enberg.

While Enberg hasn’t had nearly the same career path as Scully, he’s broadcasted for nearly 60 years across an impressive variety of sports, ranging from tennis to baseball to even the Olympics. His final seven came with the Padres.

Throughout his career, Enberg has received many awards for his prowess.  He’s notably taken away 13 Sports Emmy Awards and nine Sportscaster of the Year awards from the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

Enberg announced his retirement prior to the season. Don Orsillo, who came to San Diego from Boston last year, will assume full-time play-by-play duties in 2017.
