Wil Myers is set to have surgery Thursday to remove a bone spur in his left wrist and will likely miss at least two months, the San Diego Padres announced Wednesday.

Myers returned to the 15-day disabled list Monday, three games after returning from it after a month-long absence nursing that same left wrist.

“It’s been a big blow. That caliber of player leaves the puzzle without a piece, and everybody’s got to step up a little bit,” Padres interim manager Pat Murphy said, per the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The injury to Myers hurts the Padres who are 13-18 in games that he has not played this season.

Melvin Upton Jr. and Will Venable have replaced Myers out in center field, while Yonder Alonso takes over full-time first base duties, a position Myers has played five times this season
