San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle is not expected to attend the team’s offseason training activities Tuesday, according to NFL.com.

Weddle’s contract expires after the 2015 season and he has been vocal in his desire to have a contract extension in place before he takes the field in workouts for the Bolts.

He already missed out on the team’s voluntary workouts in April.

Weddle, who has been the team’s defensive captain the last four seasons, is due to earn $7.5 million in the final year of his deal.

He had 114 tackles last season en route to a Pro Bowl selection, and has averaged 103 tackles over the last seven seasons.
