Gov. Brown Appoints San Diego Woman to State 911 Advisory Board

A communications coordinator with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has been appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown to serve on the State 911 Advisory Board.

The appointment of Hanan Harb-Patterson, 55, of San Diego was announced Tuesday.

The State 911 Advisory Board advises the California 911 Emergency Communications Branch on policies, practices and procedures, as well as technical and operational standards for the California 911 system.

Harb-Patterson has been communications coordinator at the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department since 2000, where she has served in several positions since 1987, including dispatcher, dispatch supervisor and dispatch manager, according to Brown’s office.

She is a member of the National Emergency Number Association.

The board position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation.

According to the governor’s office, Harb-Patterson is a Republican.
