The City of San Diego will delay trash pickup by one day for each of the next two weeks because of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.

According to the Department of Environmental Services, the delay is necessary because of the federal holidays on Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2.

Monday’s trash, recyclables and yard waste will be collected on Tuesday and services will be delayed by one day for the rest of both weeks. For example, Tuesday’s trash will be picked up Wednesday, and Friday’s trash will be collected on Saturday.

Trash, recyclables, and yard waste must be set out at the curb or alleyway by 6 a.m. to ensure pick up.
