Tax Reform Among Peters’ 10 Resolutions for Congress

As the 114th Congress convened on Tuesday, Rep. Scott Peters issued a list of 10 New Year’s resolutions ranging from creating jobs and supporting the military to comprehensive action on immigration.

The Democrat from La Jolla, who narrowly won a second term by beating challenger Carl DeMaio in November, was sworn in by House Speaker John Boehner.

“Americans are exasperated by the lack of progress and productivity from Congress, and rightly so,” Peters said. “I issue this list of New Year’s Resolutions for the 114th Congress as a call to action, and a reminder to us all that we’ve been granted a great and serious honor by the American people. We owe them more policy and less politics, and our steadfast commitment to giving them a Congress they can be proud of, and the representation they deserve.”

The resolutions are:

Peters’ 52nd District covers much of central San Diego County including Poway, Coronado, and large portions of the City of San Diego. He is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Science, Space, & Technology.
