Times of San Diego was read by 1.24 million different people in its first year of operation.
The independent news website, which debuted March 13, is now reaching an average of over 40,000 readers in a nonholiday week.
The site provides essential coverage of San Diego in an easy-to-read format that automatically adjusts for smartphones, tablets and desktop computers. The website’s staff of eight contributing editors publishes an average of 20 articles daily.
Times of San Diego’s audience over the past year was young, local and mobile:
- 30 percent of visits were by readers under the age of 35, and two-thirds by readers under 55.
- One third of visits were by readers in the City of San Diego, 18 percent from elsewhere in San Diego County, and 7 percent elsewhere in Southern California.
- Smartphones were used for 35 percent of visits, tablets for 15 percent and desktops for 50 percent.
