The dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry arrived in San Diego Tuesday to begin the annual Fleet Week celebration of the city’s long partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps.

The Harpers Ferry and Coast Guard Cutter Mellon will be open for tours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Broadway Pier.

Personnel from I Marine Expeditionary Force, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group 1, Navy Region Southwest and Coast Guard Sector San Diego will also be participating in events on the pier.

Visitors must bring a photo ID and pass through an airport-style security screening prior to boarding.

There is no ship parade this year, but a variety of other events, including a viewing party for the Navy-Notre Dame football game, an open house at the Coast Guard station on Harbor Drive, and a number of luncheons and receptions. More information is available online.
