The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County remained unchanged Sunday at $4.057, ending a streak of four consecutive increases that followed a 22-day streak of decreases.
The average price is 2.3 cents more than one week ago, 12.9 cents lower than one month ago, and 28.3 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
“Breakdowns at the Chevron refinery in El Segundo and the Phillips 66 refinery in Wilmington sent wholesale Los Angeles gasoline prices up by more than 40 cents this week,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
“We would normally start to see prices drop significantly in November after stations start selling the cheaper winter blend of gasoline, but this supply glitch will delay that price decline.”
