San Diego County, along with much of the Western United States, will continue to be at risk of significant fire activity throughout the month of September, according to the National Interagency Fire Center.
The agency released its monthly outlook Saturday.
“California will remain at a high level of fire activity,” according to an NIFC video that discusses weather patterns impacting fire risk.
In Southern California, dry conditions will continue throughout September, all the way into December, according to NIFC predictions.
The agency, located in Boise, Idaho, is the nation’s support center for wildland firefighting. The NIFC coordination center can help local agencies locate firefighting resources during significant incidents.
