San Diego Gas and Electric crews restored electrical service by Sunday to thousands of customers who were left without power due to a series of unrelated problems on Saturday, a spokesperson said.
Three separate outages affected more than 5,000 customers in the San Diego region Saturday night.
About 3,000 customers in Mission Valley, Linda Vista and Clairemont found themselves without electricity around 9 p.m. Saturday as a result of a blown lightning arrester, a cable connection issue and a damaged pole, SDGE spokeswoman Helen Gao said.
Some of those customers had their power back that night, and power was restored to everyone by 6 a.m. Sunday, Gao said.
In National City, Paradise Hills and Skyline, around 1,500 customers were without power from 8 p.m. Saturday until about 10 p.m. The cause of that outage was undetermined.
And in the Lakeside area, more than 1,000 customers experienced a momentary blackout at 4:51 p.m. due to a damaged cable, Gao said. About 300 of those saw a sustained outage until their electricity was restored just before 1:30 a.m.
