Laissez les bon temps rouler! Just because San Diego’s Mardi Gras celebration isn’t happening this year, that doesn’t mean that you can’t still let the good times roll.

Lunar New Year at SeaWorld

SeaWorld is again offering a family-friendly Lunar New Year celebration at the park. There will be Chinese acrobat show, lion dances as well as wonderful sights, sounds, tastes and aromas of Asia.

Also to celebrate the Year of the Dog, the event features a Puppy Garden where visitors can cuddle, take photos with puppies and learn about adopting from local shelters.

Lunar New Year at SeaWorld starts Saturday and goes through Feb. 25 on select dates. The event is free with admission to the park.

Escondido Chocolate Festival

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and nothing says love like chocolate. The “For the Love of Chocolate” Escondido Chocolate Festival is happening in Downtown Escondido this weekend.

At various participating restaurants, shops and spas, you can sample chocolates that are paired with local fine wines and craft beers.

The Chocolate Festival goes from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $35 pre-sale until Friday and $45 at will call.

Hillcrest Mardi Gras

With the big Mardi Gras party in downtown San Diego taking a hiatus, the 16th Annual Hillcrest Mardi Gras is the place to be to celebrate Fat Tuesday.

Instead of a block party like previous years, this year the entire neighborhood is one big party. The event will feature a night-time neighborhood bar crawl with party busses roaming the entire neighborhood.

Hillcrest Mardi Gras goes from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 pre-sale and $15 the day of.

Brewbies Craft Beer Festival

San Diegans love their beers and they also love to help a good cause. This weekend, Bagby Beer Co. in Oceanside will host its ninth annual Brewbies Craft Beer Festival in support of breast health education.

The festival features beer from more than 40 breweries with 100 percent of the proceeds go to Keep a Breast Foundations.

Brewbies Craft Beer Festival goes from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets range from $45 to $65

Lunar New Year Festival

The official Lunar New Year is a week away but you can start your celebration early at the Lunar New Year Festival at SDCCU Stadium.

The event offers a fusion of Asian food stations, carnival rides. and live entertainment.

The festival goes from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for kids.

Gardens of Beauty Art Exhibit

Two San Diego-based world-renowned artists are joining forces in a new gallery partnership that celebrates women.

Gardens of Beauty Art Exhibit features the work by master oil painter Concetta Antico and artist Irina Negulescu. The show is a debut for the partnership. The show will also feature a live painting by Concetta as well as local food and drink vendors.

Gardens of Beauty Art Exhibit goes from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at The iN gallery in Barrio Logan’s up-and-coming art district. The event is free.
