A two-hour CBP systems outage hit various airports across the country, beginning at 4:30 p.m. PST.
The agency reported that it still had access to national security-related databases during the disruption, and all travelers were screened according to security standards.
CBP officers continued to process international passengers using alternative procedures, but the agency acknowledged that travelers at some ports of entry experienced longer than usual wait times.
Shortly after the outage ended, the CBP tweeted, “All airports are back on line after a temporary outage of CBP’s processing systems. … No indication the disruption was malicious in nature.”
