Jewish Family Service of San Diego announced Monday it has received its 10th consecutive top rating from Charity Navigator.

The provider of social and refugee services received a 4-star rating from the respected, independent charity evaluator.

The rating — based on fiscal management, accountability and transparency — places JFS among the top one percent of nonprofits nationwide.

“We are committed to financial integrity and the fulfillment of our mission — moving families and individuals toward self-sufficiency,” said Michael Hopkins, CEO of JFS. “This top rating from Charity Navigator ensures to our donors, as well as our clients, the high value we put on stewarding the community’s dollar.”

Founded in 1918, JFS operates throughout San Diego County and the Coachella Valley to provide individuals and families of all faiths with counseling, job coaching, transportation, education, nutritious meals, social connections and more. The organization also helps settle refugee families.

“Year after year, Jewish Family Service continues to exceed industry standards and outperforms most charities,” said Michael Thatcher, president and CEO of Charity Navigator.
