An Alzheimer’s patient from Vista who went missing this week was found in good condition in the Pacific Northwest Thursday.
Doug Nicholson, 75, walked away from his home on Devon Place on Tuesday, telling no one where he was going and leaving behind his prescription medications, according to sheriff’s officials.
Since Nicholson had recently moved to the San Diego area from Washington state to be closer to relatives, authorities believed he may have been trying to return there, Sgt. Matthew Mays said.
It was not immediately clear how Nicholson managed to get to Washington.
“He will be reunited with his family as soon as possible,” Mays said.
