More than 4,200 customers were left without power in the middle of a blustery, wet winter storm Friday, according to SDG&E.
The SDG&E Outage Map shows more than a dozen separate power outages scattered across San Diego County and nearby surrounding regions. The brunt of the power outages hit downtown San Diego.
There were 852 customers affected by an outage in the Kensington, Talmadge and West State College neighborhoods, as well as 893 customers affected in the Center City, Balboa Park, Logan Heights, Mountain View, Lincoln Park and Golden Hills neighborhoods.
In the Ocean Beach, Sunset Cliffs, Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Midway and Lindbergh Field areas of San Diego, there were 1,475 customers without power.
Power was expected to be restored at a variety of times, ranging from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., according to SDG&E. Crews were working to determine the cause of the power outages.
A downed power line also prompted street closures near Dawes Street in Pacific Beach Friday. Police have blocked off the 4600 block of Dawes Street due to live electrical cables knocked down by the windy, wet storm, according to San Diego police.
Utility crews are en route to remove the hazard that poses a threat of electrocution. No injuries have been reported.
