A planned closure of the North County coastal rail corridor this weekend has been canceled because of the threat of major rainstorms in the area, the North County Transit District announced Tuesday.
Jan. 21-22 was to be the second of three weekends early in the year that the rail line was to be shut down to allow for work on a variety of projects.
Instead, the NCTD’s Coaster and Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner trains will run as scheduled.
A rail service stoppage for the weekend of Jan. 28-29 is still planned, according to the NCTD.
