From supporting your local baseball team to honoring a hero — there are plenty of events in San Diego County this weekend.
Here are our picks for top events:
The San Diego Padres will host its annual FanFest this weekend. There will be two exhibition games against the Chicago White Sox, as well as, plenty of family-friendly events. Festivities kick off at 4:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
The Poway Center for the Performing Arts will host a concert Friday night in honor of the late Padres player Tony Gwynn. Tim Flannery, Richie McDonald and Poway Mayor Steve Vaus are among the performers. All proceeds will benefit the memorial scuplture of Gwynn.
Head over to the NTC Liberty Station this weekend for the fourth annual Wine & Food Festival. Attendees will have the opportunity to try unlimited food and wine. The event takes place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
The San Diego Maritime Museum will host its annual Chocolate Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Attendees can see culinary demonstrations, learn kitchen tricks and of course, sample chocolate.
Indulge in Mariachi music at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido this weekend. The Mariachi Festival features First Ladies of Mariachi, Mariachi Garibaldi and Mariachi Toreros. It takes place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
