Crews will close the northbound I-805 Sorrento Valley Road/Vista Sorrento Parkway off-ramp from Friday at 9 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.
The closure is necessary for pavement and restriping work as part of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project.
Detour signs will be directing motorists to exit at Mira Mesa Boulevard east, then travel north on Vista Sorrento Parkway, east on Mira Sorrento Place, south on Scranton Road and west on Mira Mesa Boulevard to Sorrento Valley Road.
Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project includes construction of a south-facing Direct Access Ramp at Carroll Canyon Road, bridge widening and ramp modifications.
The construction cost for Stage 1 is about $86 million and is funded with state, federal and local sources, including the Proposition 1B State – Local Partnership Program and TransNet Extension funds.
