The California State Parent-Teacher Association announced Monday that San Diego County resident Carol Green is the new president-elect of the organization’s board of directors.
Green, a longtime PTA volunteer, served as the board of directors’ vice president for communications from 2015 to 2017 and as the vice president for membership services from 2017 through June of this year. She has also served as the president of the state PTA’s Ninth District, which includes San Diego and Imperial counties.
Green is a communications specialist for CASA Neighborhoods and the Safety Wellness Advocacy Community Coalition. Prior to that, she worked as a journalist for more than a decade.
“I am honored to work with someone with so many years of PTA experience,” state PTA President Celia Jaffe said. “Carol is a wonderful asset to this association.”
Green will serve a two-year term as the organization’s president-elect, helping to oversee more than 750,000 volunteers and advocating for families around the state. Her term will run through June 30, 2021.
