A 60-year-old man was behind bars Friday on suspicion of stabbing his 23-year-old son at a Vista home.
Dispatchers received a call around 8:15 p.m. Thursday from a person who reported the stabbing in the 1500 block of South Melrose Drive, San Diego County Sheriff‘s Lt. Cliff Rinder said.
Deputies responded to the scene, found the son suffering from multiple stab wounds and arrested the father, Rinder said.
The son was taken to Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside for treatment of his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, the lieutenant said.
The father, identified as 60-year-old Paul Voytko, was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.
He was being held in lieu of $30,000 pending arraignment, scheduled for Dec. 6.
