A red flag warning for extreme fire danger was issued Saturday by the National Weather Service office in San Diego.

Excessively windy conditions are expected from Saturday night into late Sunday afternoon along the coastal mountain slopes, weather officials said.

Areas of mountain slopes and passes in the county are expected to get gusts of 40-50 mph as the humidity drops into the 10% to 15% range.

The warning continues through 6 p.m. on Sunday.
