Two people were briefly trapped Sunday morning in an overturned minivan on Route 79 in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.

The accident happened on the highway near Oakzanita Springs RV Campground at around 9:30 a.m. A red Toyota Sienna minivan with two people aboard overturned.

Cal Fire San Diego firefighters pulled the two people from the minivan. They were then taken to the hospital, Cal Fire San Diego Public Information Officer Thomas Shoots said. The patients’ conditions were not immediately available.

Highway 79 was blocked in both directions until about 11 a.m.
