
A San Diego police cruiser. Photo by Chris StonePerkins Elementary School in Barrio Logan was placed on lockdown for about 40 minutes Thursday morning as authorities investigated a suspicious device, which turned out to be harmless.
An officer was flagged down near the intersection of Sigsbee and Main streets around 8:10 a.m. and notified of the suspicious device, according to San Diego police.
The elementary school on Main Street near Harbor Drive was placed on lockdown shortly before 8:30 a.m., 10News reported.
Authorities determined the device was safe and the lockdown was lifted by 9:10 a.m., police said.
No details about the device were immediately available.
