A thief in dark glasses threatened to shoot a teller Thursday while robbing a Rolando-area supermarket bank, authorities reported.
The robbery at the Vons store in the 6100 block of El Cajon Boulevard took place shortly after 10 a.m., according to San Diego police.
The bandit pretended to fill out a deposit slip before approaching a clerk, making the menacing statement and demanding cash, Officer Tony Martinez said. After the victim handed over an undisclosed amount of money, the robber fled the area on foot.
He was described as a bald, roughly 5-feet-10-inch, 160-pound black man wearing dark-colored pants, a black jacket and sunglasses. He who appeared to be in his 20s or early 30s.
