A 20-year-old man was hospitalized Friday with a gunshot wound to his leg after he was shot during an argument with two men at Southcrest Park, police said.
It happened shortly after 9:15 p.m. Thursday at the park on Keeler Avenue between South 40th and South 43rd streets, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.
The 20-year-old man was with friends in the park when two men walked up to the group and began arguing with them, Heims said.
During the argument, one of the men pulled a gun from his waistband and fired several shots at the victim, who was struck once in the lower right leg, the officer said.
The suspects fled in an unknown direction and the victim’s friends drove him to a hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Heims said.
No detailed suspect descriptions were immediately available.
Gang detectives were investigating the shooting.
