A driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and 10 vehicles were impounded during an overnight sobriety and license checkpoint in Lemon Grove, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department reported Sunday.
Deputies also issued 22 citations for driving with a suspended, revoked or no license during the checkpoint in the 7900 block of Broadway that began at 8:30 p.m. Saturday and ended at 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
The checkpoint was staffed by 14 deputies, who checked a total of 836 vehicles.
Funding for the operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
It was the second DUI checkpoint set up in San Diego County this weekend.
