Police arrested a domestic violence suspect at a City Heights home after a lengthy standoff, officials said Sunday.
The department originally received a report of domestic violence at about 9 a.m. Sunday, said San Diego police Lt. Christian Sharp. A woman said she had escaped from her ex-boyfriend after being assaulted and threatened with a knife.
Officers were called to a home near 42nd and Dwight streets at about 12:30 p.m. after the suspect was spotted going inside. Police and SWAT officers surrounded the home when the suspect refused to come out.
Sharp said the suspect would not answer his phone, but others inside the residence confirmed he was in the house. They then texted him, and he agreed to talk, before deciding to surrender.
