A masked man armed with a gun made a failed attempt to rob a Rolando-area bank Monday afternoon.
The would-be thief approached a teller at the Wells Fargo branch office in the 4600 block of 63rd Street and demanded cash shortly before 2 p.m., according to San Diego police.
“A witness at the scene observed a pistol in the (man’s) waistband,” Officer Dino Delimitros said.
After the clerk refused to hand over any money to him, the robber walked out of the bank and fled the area on foot.
