A thief armed with a gun robbed a City Heights cellphone store Wednesday.
The holdup at Metro by T-Mobile, 3549 University Ave., occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m., according to San Diego police.
The suspect walked to the counter, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.
“The employee opened the register and gave the suspect an unknown amount of money,” Heims said.
The suspect left the store and was last seen southbound in the 3800 block of Wilson Avenue, the officer said.
He was described as a 200-pound black man with curly hair and wearing a gray hat, dark sweater and blue jeans.
Details on the loss were not immediately available, Heims said.
