Times of San Diego is receiving reports Wednesday of a spam website opening in a new tab when readers click on some article links.

Our hosting company, WP Engine in Austin, is performing a full security scan of the website to fix the problem. The process takes a full 24 hours and is expected to be completed by 8 a.m. Thursday.
