A 52-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning in Point Loma.

The woman was standing in a southbound lane, in the 1700 block of Rosecrans Street, when she was hit by a southbound vehicle, said Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.

Officers dispatched to the scene at 12:17 a.m. found the woman lying in the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Heims said.

San Diego police asked anyone who witnessed the death to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
