A 19-year-old woman was seriously injured when her car veered off a road, struck a metal fence and overturned in the Barrio Logan area, police said Thursday.
The accident happened shortly before 11:40 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Harbor Drive and South 32nd Street, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.
The 19-year-old woman was driving her 2016 Toyota Corolla southbound on Harbor Drive when she veered to the right for unknown reasons and her car left the roadway, Heims said. The car then struck a wrought iron fence and overturned.
The woman was transported to a hospital with internal injuries, which were believed to be life-threatening, Heims said.
Intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the crash, Heims said.
