The woman was in the crosswalk in the 4400 block of Mission Boulevard, going eastbound when she was hit by either a silver or white sedan a little before 1:45 a.m., said Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.

The sedan fled the scene, going southbound, and paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital with serious head injuries, Heims said. The injuries were considered non-life threatening.
