San Diego Sheriff‘s deputies were dispatched Saturday afternoon to assist with the recovery of a 64-year-old man, who was unresponsive and not breathing. Paramedics began life-saving measures, but could not revive the man.
Due to the rugged terrain and heat in the area, sheriff’s helicopters were used to rescue the hiker’s companions and recover the body.
The medical examiner’s office was notifying next of kin on Saturday night and continuing to investigate the incident.
