A man driving a black Mercedes Benz is suspected of shooting and killing a woman Saturday during a possible road rage incident at at stoplight in the Skyline neighborhood.

San Diego Police were called at 5:29 p.m. to investigate a shooting at South Meadowbrook Drive and Skyline Drive. Arriving officers found a 27-year-old women with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital, but died of her injuries.
Homicide investigators said the woman was driving north on South Meadowbrook Drive when she stopped behind the Mercedes at a red light. The woman apparently got out of her car and approached the other vehicle. At that point, a gunshot rang out and the woman stumbled away and collapsed in a nearby parking lot.
Witnesses said the woman was screaming at the man in the Mercedes over a road rage incident.
Police described the suspect as a black male in his twenties to thirties and was last seen driving a black two-door Mercedes Benz.
The victim has been identified, but her name is being withheld pending notification of her family.
