Authorities Tuesday identified a man who was struck and killed by a car on an Ocean Crest-area street last week.
The 2012 Ford Fusion was headed east in the 4400 block of Del Sol Boulevard when the pedestrian crossed into its path and was hit shortly after 7 a.m. July 30, according to San Diego police.
The impact sent 66-year-old Carmelo Figueroa of San Diego about 180 feet from where he was initially hit when he was struck by another vehicle, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner.
Figueroa was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The motorist, a man in his 20s, was unhurt.
A description of the second vehicle and driver that hit Figueroa was not immediately available.
Intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the accident, Officer Sarah Foster said.
