A woman was found dead Saturday in the courtyard of a high-rise apartment building downtown, and San Diego Police were investigating whether she jumped to her death.
The discovery was made about 3:30 p.m. at the Atmosphere community at 1453 Fourth Ave., San Diego Police Lt. Anthony Dupree said.
“The 42-year-old female had traumatic injuries to her body and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Dupree said. “It appeared the female may have jumped from several floors up.”
Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate “out of an abundance of caution.,” he said. They were investigating the death as suspicious.
The woman’s name was not released pending notification of kin, Dupree said.
