Fire Damages House, Cars in El Cajon

Firefighters extinguished a blaze that engulfed a residence, several surrounding vehicles, sheds and parking structures in El Cajon.

The fire started shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday from a property on North Fourth Street just north of East Madison Avenue, across from Granite Hills High School, according to a tweet from El Cajon Police.

Footage from the scene showed the fire damaged a one-story structure and a two-story home next to the structure as well as several large car ports and multiple vehicles parked on the property.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

An estimate of the damage caused by the fire was not immediately available.
