A 31-year-old woman died when she was struck by a car and killed while walking on a Vista street, authorities said Friday.
The crash was at 8:50 p.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes of the 1400 block of East Vista Way, San Diego Sheriff‘s Lt. Robert Smith said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, Smith said.
The victim’s was not released pending notification of relatives, Smith said.
The 55-year-old woman driving a 2006 Toyota Prius remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation, Smith said.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision, Smith said.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 9:26 p.m. Thursday shutting down the intersection of East Vista Way and Palomar Place for the investigation.
The sheriff’s Vista traffic division was investigating the collision.
