The suspect was arrested at the scene in the attack, which occurred just after 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Sixth Avenue, said San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims.

The victim and suspect were engaged in an argument that turned physical. During the fight, the suspect used an unknown weapon to cut the victim across his ear and face, and stab him twice in his left bicep, Heims said.

The victim was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect was later arrested at the Hazard Center trolley station, Heims said.

The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Darryl Oliver, was booked into jail, Heims said.
