A 22-year-old woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI for causing a head-on crash in El Cajon that killed a passenger in her car.
Tania Molinar faces nearly 12 years in prison when she is sentenced June 12.
Molinar was behind the wheel of a southbound silver Mazda sedan last May 5 when she allowed the car to drift into oncoming traffic on Avocado Boulevard, where it collided with a Ford Ranger near Horizon Hills Drive about 4:15 a.m., according to police.
Molinar’s passenger, 29-year-old David Sarabia-Lopez, died at the scene.
Both Molinar and the driver of the Ford Ranger were taken to hospitals to be treated for moderate injuries, police said.
