A single-vehicle crash critically injured the driver of a pickup truck in a canyon near San Diego State University, police said Sunday.
At about 11:05 p.m. Saturday, a man was driving a Ford F150 pickup on Fairmount Avenue onto a ramp to Montezuma Road, when his truck lost traction and struck a guardrail, according to Officer Dino Delimitros of the San Diego Police Department.
The man suffered “a brain bleed and internal injuries,” and was taken to a hospital. His injuries were considered life-threatening.
Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, Delimitros said.
