A 51-year-old man sustained life-threatening stab wounds in San Diego’s Skyline neighborhood during a quarrel that allegedly started because of a shopping trip gone awry, police said.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when the victim asked the 65- year-old suspect to go to the store for him, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said. The victim apparently gave the other man money to purchase the requested items.
“When the suspect returned, he didn’t have what the victim wanted or his money,” Buttle said. “The two (men) started fighting and during the fight, the victim was stabbed several times.”
The suspect fled the scene but was later taken into custody, Buttle said. His name was not immediately released, and detectives were investigating the attack.
Paramedics took the victim to a hospital where he was admitted with serious, life-threatening injuries, Buttle said.
