A wildfire of unknown origin scorched about four open acres Thursday in a remote area near the U.S.-Mexico border before ground and airborne crews got the flames under control.
It took firefighters, including personnel aboard air tankers and water-dropping helicopters, about an hour to halt the spread of the flames, said Jon Heggie, a fire captain with the state agency.
The cause of the blaze, which posed no structural threats. was under investigation, Heggie said.
